GENERAL
Our 20th Anniversary Dinner combined with St. George's Day Dinner was held in the club on Friday evening.
Over 70 members and friends attended and both occasions were celebrated. St George with a rendition of 'There'll always be an
England' and the 20th Anniversary with a toast to the club.
Congratulations to Margaret Chirnside, who was in the Kent Ladies Atherley Trophy team who won at Nottingham on
Saturday. Claire Jolley was also with the team as travelling reserve.
We held our Club Finals on Saturday and Sunday. The winners were:
Mens Singles: R. Stother. Mens Singles Plate: R. Day. Mens Pairs: J. Hierons and G. Thompson.
Mens Triples: C. Stevenson, D. Boakes and S. Richford
Ladies Singles: M. Chirnside. Ladies Singles Plate. S. Burton. Ladies Pairs: M. Chirnside and R. Kutchera.
Over 60's Mixed Pairs: A. Griffiths and Claire Jolley. Mixed Triples: K. Nash, M. Saunders and Ann Munro.
Mixed Pairs: J. Hierons and Anne Farley.
Sevenoaks IBC celebrate their 20th Anniversary in May. They will toast the Clubs health at the St George's Day Dinner at the club on 23rd April. Members of the steering committee from 20 years ago will be specially invited guests.
Sevenoaks bowler Margaret Chirnside is in the Kent team for the final of the Atherly Trophy at Nottingham. She will be joined by Clare Jolley, who is one of the two travelling reserves.
Dave Banfield, Rod Stother and Brian Martin won the final of the Over 55 Kent Triples beating a triple from Folkestone 21-12 at Bromley. They then, with Colin Stevenson, beat a four from Folkestone by 25-20 in the final of the Kent Fours.
Dave Banfield, Rod Stother and Brian Martin are through to the final of the Over 55 Kent Triples where they will play a triple from Folkestone at Bromley.
Dave Banfield, Rod Stother, Darren Willis and Brian Martin won the final of the London & Southern Counties Fours Championship at Croydon IBC. They beat a four from Falcon (Essex) by 24-20.
Dave Banfield, Rod Stother, Colin Stevenson and Brian Martin won through to the final of the Kent Fours by beating Mark Johnson's team from Swale in the semi final at Stone Lodge. The score was 17-16.
In the final at Bromley on 28th March they will play a four from Folkestone.
Sevenoaks reached the final of the London & Southern Counties Fours with a 20-17 victory over Foxhill (Aylesbury) at Egham. They will now play Falcon in the final at Croydon on 20th March at 10 am.
Dave Banfield, Rod Stother and Brian Martin are through to the semi-final of the Over 55 Kent Triples where they will play a triple from Bromley. The semi final will take place at Angel on Friday at 6 pm.
Sevenoaks men qualified for the semi finals of the Dudley Hoile double rink competition by beating Bromley 44-31. They now play in the semi finals at Dartford on March 20th
Margaret Chirnside won the Yardstick competition with John Hierons winning the Plate.
Sevenoaks lady bowlers Margaret Chirnside and Clare Jolley were in the Kent Ladies team that won through to the final of the Atherley Trophy.
Coiln Stevenson qualified for his County Badge on reaching the semi final of the Kent Fours along with Dave Banfield, Rod Stother and Brian Martin.
Sevenoaks A lost in the 5th Round of the National Over 60 Double Fours competition to Croydon.
Sevenoaks A are through to the 5th Round of the National Over 60 Double Fours competition where they will play either
Crystal Palace or Croydon.
